Our History

Westland was founded in 1979 with the goal to establish a construction business big enough to service clients' requirements, yet personal enough to understand clients' needs. Our success is directly related to our team's expertise and the values that we embrace. These values are the foundation of our work and the foundation of our customer relationships. Planning does not build buildings -- people do!

A Brief Chronology

1979 - Westland Construction Ltd. is founded by Norm Young
1996 - Aurlie Young succeeds her husband as President
2001 - Peter Grose becomes President
2001 - Attains Construction Safety Association of Manitoba COR™ Registration
2004 - Obtains COR™ Certification from the Construction Safety Association of Manitoba
2007 - Outgrows Border St. office and relocates to 1641 Dublin Ave.
2010 - Westland's Total Quality Control program achieves ISO 9001:2008 certification
2014 - Increases implementation of Lean construction principles
2015 - Relocates to more spacious facilities at Unit 1 - 475 Dovercourt Dr.
2016 - 'Butch' the Westland office dog joins the team
2018 - Upgraded our ISO certification to the ISO 9001:2015 standard
