Our Executive Management

Peter Grose | CPA, CMA, B.A., CM-Lean
President & CEO

Peter is President and CEO of Westland Construction Ltd. Peter is passionate about pursuing continuous improvement and has used his CPA designation and management training to develop a systematic method of managing construction projects. This approach, along with Lean Construction techniques, has been used to manage hundreds of diversified construction projects. Peter joined Westland in 1989 and since assuming the role of president in 2001, he has successfully led the company through considerable change and sustained growth.

Peter sits on the Executive Board of Directors as Chair for the Winnipeg Construction Association and the Board of Directors for the Canadian Construction Association. Committed to continuous improvement, Peter speaks on a wide range of construction-related topics to industry stakeholders. He earned his undergraduate degree in Sociology and his Advanced Accounting and CPA accounting designation from combined studies at the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba.

 

Darryl Berard | C.E.T, G.S.C
Vice President - Business Development

Darryl joined Westland in 2002 as a Civil Engineering Technologist certified in Design and Construction Technology. His design and AutoCAD experience, along with his easy-going nature and attention to detail, make him an essential member of our management team. As a leader on many major Westland projects, Darryl has a solid understanding of construction from the design to the finished project. He manages the big picture while exemplifying teamwork and tending to the important details so that jobs are done well - on time and on budget.

Darryl has his Gold Seal Certification, exemplifying his years of service and education in construction.

 

Craig Hildebrandt | BSc (Eng)
Vice President - Projects

Craig came to Westland with more than 10 years of contracting experience, having been involved in general, commercial, residential and agricultural contracting. As a result of his broad knowledge and range of experience, Craig is keenly aware of the full spectrum of issues which come in managing construction projects from the smallest details to the big picture. His focused and calm nature helps him excel in the variety, responsibility and challenge of a management position. Craig is a Red Seal Certified Carpenter with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba. He also brings an additional range of technical and AutoCAD skills to his work at Westland Construction Ltd.

 

Sheena Braun | B.Sc
Controller

With more than 30 years in construction, Sheena brings great understanding of the industry and the flow of a construction project. Her dedication to her job and the people she works with make her an asset and a key member of our management team.

As Controller, Sheena is responsible for our accounting, payroll, and human resources. As part of our management team, Sheena is a member of the committee that approves many of our company policies and procedures. She has a dedication to our company that has driven her success.

Sheena served a term on the Board of Directors for the Manitoba Women in Construction (MWC), a group of women who share a common goal of supporting, educating and mentoring women in construction. She is also a current officer for the Chapter H Manitoba P.E.O. Foundation which works for the advancement of education and the relief of financial need among women. Sheena is also a member and supporter of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 2.
